What Is A Boiler?
And how is it different than a furnace? You’re not the only one to ask that question. While boilers and furnaces essentially do the same job — keep you from freezing in Colorado’s cold winters — they function differently. Furnaces heat air and then blows it through your home’s duct system. Boilers heat water which flows through you home’s pipes and warms you up.
Furnace = Air. Boiler = Water.
Warm is warm, but people go with boilers for many reasons. Durability, better air quality, energy efficient. On average boilers use less fuel to heat your home which in turn saves you money. For asthmatics or those with allergies, because boilers run on water instead of air you might find your lungs happier with them. Oh and silence. Boiler’s don’t blow out hot air like furnace’s do and so if you’re one for quiet maybe a boiler is for you. We do offer both boiler and furnace service in Fort Collins and surrounding areas.
Boiler Service & Repair
It is important that thorough inspections of your boiler happen in order to check for any problems that might have developed. It’d advised that you seek out an expert to do that as you might not know what to look for. Boiler repair technicians at Hahn’s can help ensure your boiler is not leaking toxic gases such as carbon monoxide. Technicians can also make sure the boiler is working under proper conditions for gas pressure. Boilers run on water and with water comes rust. Checking for signs of corrosion or rust should be part of inspections. To safely and reliably use your boiler it’s suggested that regular boiler maintenance be conducted.
